Granted, Mad Libs are one of the many things which poor little John McCain could not have as a child, the only merriment option being a rousing trip by buggy out to Wm. H. West’s Big Minstrel Jubilee. Yet all the same, it seems like someone on his campaign might have foreseen that this was ill-advised.

They seem to have hoped to cover themselves by noting “demeaning or derogatory names or phrases are not acceptable,” but this strikes me as even more problematic. I’m curious what the Wall Street Journal‘s editorial page would think if McCain’s campaign rejected my request for a “The Richest 0.1% For John McCain” sign. Demeaning or derogatory, hm?
