Targeted voting
In what has to be amongst the most brilliant demographic-targeting operations ever, I just ran across a Web advertisement for Barack Obama on SparkNotes1. There’s a certain amount of cynicism to be found in that, I guess, but, hey, they know their market. What worries me is that it seems to be negatively self-selecting—SparkNotes isn’t exactly the hangout for the sort of people who have their act together enough to fill out a ballot.
